Baltimore-based musician Dan Deacon has shared a new music video for ‘Meme Generator,” the third video from his recent album Gliss Riffer. It follows the release of the Adult Swim’s Off the Air produced video for “When I Was Done Dying.”
The video directed by Monica Mirabile, stems from an earlier collaboration between the two on a performance art piece with choreography group FLUCT that resulted in Deacon writing an earlier version of “Meme Generator” with lyrics. To complement the video, there’s an interactive video game based on the four different choreography sequences seen in the music video. Surprises abound for those that play the game.
Director Mirabile says in regards to the collaboration:
“Meme Generator is a game of programmed choreography. The players are downloaded into a digital world and asked to play the game of semiotic codes interacting with the "house". A few years ago Dan and I decided to collaborate on a video that I was making with my own performance art collaboration (FLUCT). That video is set in a living room which looped suburban leisure choreography created by the glitch of being physically effected by technology. The inspiration for this video has been an extension of the way our bodies are programmed by the worlds we live. In the music video, four choreographers created four dances in a liminal house. I gave no rules, just asked for a response derived from the choreographers own relationship to the "program." The program being the familiar space of the house. I'm most directly inspired by the choreography of the people that surround me, as we are all affected by a similar marketed reality. We all play the game.”

Matt Mondanile’s Ducktails has released the new single, “Surreal Exposure,” from forthcoming album St. Catherine out July 24. The tracks follows the release of "Headbanging In The Mirror," the first track to be shared from the album, further affirming Mondanile’s melodic lilt is at its most honest and vibrant amongst the new material. Listen to both tracks below.
St. Catherine, Mondanile's fifth full-length under his solo moniker, is a finely-honed collection of baroque pop songs that take the blissful, cascading melodic fretwork that Mondanile has made his signature with both Ducktails and his other band, Real Estate, and applies it to songs of considerable new emotional heft and dynamic range.
In addition to having announced new North American tour dates in August and September, Ducktails will perform a special free show this Friday, June 12 at Elvis Guesthouse in New York previewing material from the new album. Find all dates below.
Mondanile partially wrote and recordedSt. Catherine in bedrooms and studios predominantly in east LA and Glendale, but venturing as far as Berlin and New York. When Mondanile finally settled back in LA at the start of 2015, it was Rob Schnapf, co-producer of Elliott Smith’s classic albums XO and Either/Or, that he turned to in order to help put the finishing touches to St. Catherine.
The Julia Holter-featuring “Church” and “Heaven’s Room,” see Mondanile flex his muscles as a composer and arranger, introducing complex, interlocking vocal harmonies, gorgeously sweeping string parts (provided by Chris Votek and Andrew Tholl) and a host of off-kilter electronic elements into his sonic palate – channelling the likes of Broadcast, and Stereolab but with a younger, wide-eyed sensibility.
St. Catherine will be available on July 24 on CD, standard edition LP, and limited edition coloured vinyl LP. Few copies remain of the limited edition coloured vinyl through the Domino Mart. Pre-order on iTunes and receive both "Headbanging in the Mirror" and "Surreal Exposure" instantly.

Today, the NYC-by-way-of-Canada duo known as Bob Moses premiered their brand new track titled “Talk”. The sultry summer smash is now available on digital platforms including iTunes and Spotify and serves as an exciting taste of what’s to come from the talented producer/DJ duo.
Since Bob Moses’ stellar performances in-front of thousands of fans at Mysteryland, Movement and Lightning In A BottleFestivals last month, the critically acclaimed duo has now confirmed they will be performing live at MoMA PS1 on August 1 as part of their summer Warm Up series, as well an already-sold-out headlining roof-top show at Brooklyn’s Output Club on Friday, July 31.
Hailed by Consequence of Sound after their incredible set at Movement Festival in Detroit the reputable outlet tipped the duo as having “the ability to establish deep house on an entirely new level.”
Bob Moses -- comprised of Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance -- grew out of the underground electronic dance scene, playing in abandoned Brooklyn warehouses and as part of the Marcy Hotel collective alongside the likes of Soul Clap, Wolf + Lamb and Nicolas Jaar.
Having received their oddball moniker from Francis Harris (the iconoclastic DJ/producer and co-founder of tastemaker label Scissor & Thread) after “urban planner” Robert Moses, their name is a testament to the pair’s DNA being very much entrenched in NYC, where they currently reside.
The duo unleashed their debut Domino release last year, an EP titled “First to Cry” and earlier this year collected their previous singles in the "All In All" compilation.
We are proud to announce the debut eponymous album by multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Georgia Barnes, out August 7th, 2015. Watch a trailer for the album featuring the opening track, 'Intro', below.
Additionally, we're excited to announce that Georgia will be performing two headlining shows in New York the week her debut album comes out. Details below, with tickets to both shows on sale this coming Friday, June 5.
Mon Aug 3 || Elvis’ Guesthouse || New York, NY (Buy tickets) Thurs Aug 5 || Baby's All Right || Brooklyn, NY (Buy tickets)
Written, performed and produced by Barnes in its entirety and recorded in her own home-studio, Georgia is the product of two years of obsessive work, but also a young lifetime of voracious music listening.
Elements of the glacial yet hyper-melodic tone of early 00's grime, sweltering, mid-summer west London dub and ragga, sophisticated pop, first wave post-punk agitation, the formative influence of Missy Elliott and the high-concept, illuminated sound-design work of contemporary artists such as The Knife and Hudson Mohawke run through Georgia, a record that reveals new layers of intrigue and ingenuity with every listen.
Born and raised in a deeply musical household in north west London, Georgia combined music study at London's SOAS with a stint working on the counter at Rough Trade and quickly made a lot of very natural musical connections, being invited to play drums with DIY innovators such as Kwes and Kate Tempest.
Georgia herself is a warm, compelling, malleable voice as believable a sensual soul-bearer as she is raucous provocateur (as witnessed at her dynamic recent live shows at The Great Escape and supporting Hot Chip and Kelela) and a very necessary new pop star for 2015.
Georgiawill be available on CD, LP, Deluxe LP, and digitally. The Deluxe LP comes with a bonus 10”. You can pre-order the album via Dom Mart or iTunes. Pre-orders will feature 4 instant grats - "Intro," "Move Systems," "Be Ache" and "Digits."
Watch the video for "Move Systems" below and listen to "Be Ache."

Quickly building a stellar reputation on the back of a series of singles introducing their melodic, snarling guitar pop, The Bohicas release their anticipated debut album ‘TheMakingOf’ on August21st on Domino. Watch the band in action in the trailer for Pulse Films’ director duo thirtytwo’s (Blur’s ‘No Distance Left To Run, LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Shut Up And Play The Hits’) tour documentary from the ‘Swarm Over Essexxx’ tour below.
‘TheMakingOf’ lands blow after blow. Featuring early singles XXX and Swarm, alongside Radio 1 playlisted To Die For and Where You At, the album is two barrels' worth of electrifying tunes and crackling 21st Century rock and roll.
The Bohicas are rock and roll painted in vivid primary colours. Hi def, loud, fast, shiny and above all fun. A barrage of killer hooks, razor blade riffs and choruses that slap you in the face, grab your hand and lead you onto the dance floor. All shot through with pulp imagery torn from the pages of a graphic novel.
‘The Making Of’ was produced by Mark Rankin (Queens Of The Stone Age, Bombay Bicycle Club), Chris ‘Merrick’ Hughes (Tears For Fears, Adam And The Ants) and Oli Bayston (Toy, Boxed In).
The Bohicas are Dominic McGuinness, drummer BrendanHeaney, guitarist DominicJohn and bassist AdrianAcolatse. The Bohicas’ story began in Essex where, as schoolmates, McGuinness, Heaney and John first came together over a love of The Beatles, The Kinks, Ray Charles and the new wave of guitar bands who emerged at the start of the century after the scrag ends of Britpop had finally limped off.
‘The Making Of’ will be available on CD, vinyl and digitally. In addition, the album will also be released in two special formats - the Deluxe Edition will feature a bonus 7” single featuring In The Mood and Rewind Replay, and will be available from Domino Mart and select indies. The same two tracks will also feature on theiTunes Bonus Track Edition.
The album’s artwork was created by illustrator TomerHanuka. “The immediacy and impact of Tomer's style marries perfectly to how we want our music to sound,” explains McGuinness. “The subject of most of the songs is a boy longing for a girl. We thought the cover should be inviting and dangerous so we asked Tomer to draw someone who is about to fuck off into the future and this is your chance to join her.”
Acclaimed Canadian artist Patrick Watson confirms new U.S. and European fall tour dates in support of his new album Love Songs for Robots (out now via Domino Records). The tour will now run through December, concluding with dates in New York City (at Irving Plaza) and Philadelphia (Underground Arts). The first of his US Love Songs For Robots dates is tonight, at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC.
In celebration of the commencement of the US tour, Patrick Watson is pleased to share a video for “Hearts”, recorded at a secret album release show in Montreal recently. Watch the video below.
In addition, KCRW yesterday featured previous single “Places You Will Go” as “Today’s Top Tune”—a preview to Watson’s upcoming appearance on KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” on June 5.
Love Songs for Robots continues to receive widespread critical acclaim:
The music was recorded at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles and Pierre Marchand Studio in Montreal. Of the record, some of which debuted at private concerts in small loft spaces, Watson explains, “I wanted to make a science fiction R n’ B meets Vangelis erotica with a zest of folk kind of record.” It was only halfway through writing the record when the artist found himself having, by his own submission, “a bad year” did more personal themes begin to creep in. “I started thinking about how emotional reactions were more mechanical than we think and the only thing left between us and artificial intelligence is the act of inspiration. Just food for thought.” Watch the official video for “Places You Will Go” here.
Watson composes, performs and records his albums with his full band of almost a decade, which includes Joe Grass (guitars), Robbie Kuster (drums/percussion) and Mishka Stein (bass). The recipient of Canada’s elite Polaris Music Prize in 2007, Watson and his band have performed to over 100,000 people at the 2009 Montreal Jazz Festival as well as with full orchestras in Amsterdam and Montreal. Raised and still living in Montreal, Watson himself has composed 15 scores for both film and television, including a trailer for “The Walking Dead” and Wim Wenders’ new 3D film “Everything Will Be Fine”, where he performed the songs “Cynical World” (an original for the film) and “Lighthouse.”
Love Songs For Robots is available on iTunes. The vinyl edition comes with an additional 7”, featuring a non-album track, and can be along with the CD on the Domino Mart.

“Expansive and intricate…”—NPR Music
“Passionate…as nearly hallucinatory as it is pleasing to the ears.”—The FADER
“…a heady slice of pop.”—MTV Iggy
“Intimate, lush, entrancing...”—NME
“Watson’s voice exists in that airy, impossible realm that seems more spiritual than physical in form.”—Stereogum

Watson recently shared the video for “Places You Will Go,” watch it here. Of the inspiration for the video, Oscar-nominated directors Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski explain, “The video was inspired by watching the band play small shows leading up to the release…The clip is shot in a small Sequoia cabin in Northern Quebec in a single take, from a single perspective. The reward of this very simple concept is a lively, energetic and intimate portrait of Patrick and the band.”
Love Songs For Robots is available on iTunes. The vinyl edition comes with an additional 7”, featuring a non-album track, and can be along with the CD on the Domino Mart.

Lennox says of the Sam Fleischner-directed video shot in Lisbon where Lennox resides, “Rua da Rosa is the narrow but main street cut through the Bairro Alto neighborhood here in Lisbon. Visitors mainly stock the area during the day but it’s perhaps the principle target for partying Lisbon teenagers Thursday through Sunday nights. The constant shifts make it a particularly fascinating neighbourhood to me. It’s noisy except for Sunday mornings. I’d had an idea for a while to shoot the street for a bit to catch the traffic. When my friend Sam was here shooting a short thing we made for the recent album he was game to give the idea a go.”
Panda Bear is in the US this week for a series of shows and recently announced a three night run at Bowery Ballroom Oct 13-15 as part of this year's CMJ festival. See all the dates below.

Unfurling out of Los Angeles this July comes St. Catherine, Matt Mondanile’s fifth outing as Ducktails. The new album emerges from the roots of Mondanile's previous work, from the free-form, ambient bedroom experiments of seminal underground release Landscapes (2009), to 2013's eighties pop re-imagination The Flower Lane, but ultimately moves Ducktails on to a more refined, personal and sincere place.
St. Catherine is a finely-honed collection of baroque pop songs that take the blissful, cascading melodic fretwork that Mondanile has made his signature with both Ducktails and his other band, Real Estate, and applies it to songs of considerable new emotional heft and dynamic range.
Mondanile partially wrote and recorded St. Catherine over the course of 2014 and then finished off recording at the start of 2015. The longest time he has ever spent working on a record, it took place in bedrooms and studios predominantly in east LA and Glendale, but venturing as far as Berlin and New York as Mondanile worked on tracks around heavy periods of Real Estate touring.

When Mondanile finally settled back in LA at the start of 2015, it was Rob Schnapf, co-producer of Elliott Smith's classic albums XO and Either/Or, that he turned to in order to help put the finishing touches to St. Catherine. Together, the pair added a new crispness and punch to the record's more upbeat, psychedelic pop tracks (such as James Ferraro-featuring, lolloping lead single "Headbanging In The Mirror", and the soaring "Into The Sky"), that recalls the artful muscularity of Smith's later work, whilst title track, the heavenly "St. Catherine" boasts one of Mondanile's greatest ever lead guitar lines and benefits greatly from Schnapf's warm, rich feel.

Ahead of their West Coast run this summer, The Kills have expanded their tour to include new shows in Brooklyn and Philadelphia and will play a handful of festivals including the Squamish Valley Arts Festival and Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in Canada.
The band’s most recent album Blood Pressures, was released in 2011. This past year was an eventful one for The Kills, which focused on touring, festivals, as well as their passion for visual art. Jamie Hince opened “Echo Home”, an exhibit of his photographic work at the Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York. In addition to Jamie’s Photography, Alison Mosshart’s original painting on paper, canvas and fabric art were included in “Push It”, a 21-person group show devoted to female artists at ArtNowNY in April—some of which featured in the New York Times T Magazine.

Inji, released on June 30th, is the debut solo album by Sam Dust, AKA LA PRIEST. Across its ten audaciously imaginative tracks, Inji reasserts Dust as a truly idiosyncratic voice in British music, applying the same frantically eclectic, mischievous and wilfully absurd spirit of his previous band, the beloved Late of the Pier, to ever more nuanced and affecting songwriting and composition. Listen to the single, “Party Zute / Learning To Love”, now.
Recorded over a reclusive period spanning five years following the disbandment of Late of the Pier in which Dust travelled the world, did scientific research, worked on the creation of a number of new inventions and produced several secret musical projects, Inji is a record that has its own logic and exists in its own time zone.
From the obscene space-age stadium rock guitar solo of "Oino", the maddeningly catchy digi-dub single that Dust leaked sample-by-sample on a suitably enigmatic website at the turn of the year (watch the video HERE), to "Learning To Love", the record's gargantuan, eight minute long prog-house centrepiece and "Occasion", a melting martian Prince come-on, Inji confounds and delights in equal measure and at every turn.
"Lady's In Trouble With The Law" boasts a lithe, sensual soul chorus about getting arrested that feels at once haunted and horny whilst the insectoid instrumental ambience of "Lorry Park", twists and turns and burrows into the brain as creepily as the most classic Aphex Twin material. Elsewhere, "Fabby", another instrumental, juxtaposes a gorgeous, cascading piano figure that'd make Benjamin Britten proud with percussion that sounds like the clashing of two swords and album closer, the bubbling, aquamarine ballad "Mountain" finds Dust contorting his voice into a stratospherically high, androgynous falsetto.
Throughout all the songs there's a reliance on feeling and intimation as opposed to any one lyrical theme, and although the notion of love, its joys and trials, heaviness and absurdity, can often be glimpsed, it's in a non-linear way that recalls the disruptive, deliberately misleading pop of artists such as David Sylvian, Arthur Russell and David Byrne. So when Dust opines "was I born to love you?" on "Mountain", it's just as likely to be about the titular mountain, or his dog, or the entire world itself, or nothing at all as it is any real object of romantic affection.
If it doesn’t conform it’s because it’s not supposed to.
Inji will be available on CD (WIGCD344), LP with download code (WIGLP344), Deluxe LP with download code (WIGLP344x) & Digital (WIG344D) with an instant grat of ‘Oino’ and ‘Party Zute / Learning To Love’. Pre-order the album through Dom Mart HERE and through iTunes HERE.
We're happy to announce 'Fading Love,' the debut album from George FitzGerald, is available today.
Purchase it on CD and vinyl from the Dom Mart HERE and on iTunes HERE.
FitzGerald recently dropped a video for single ‘Crystallise ft. Lawrence Hart’. Watch the Joe Mortimer-directed video HERE.
Fading Love, was recorded and produced both in London and George's adopted home, Berlin. The composition of the album began in an Ibiza studio rented on a whim between DJ gigs in summer 2013. It was here that George's increasing feelings of alienation towards the excesses and one-dimensional records so pervasive in dance music began to crystallise. Indeed, the title of the album, Fading Love, documents not only the disintegration of a romantic relationship but also FitzGerald's dwindling enthusiasm for music that so blindly ignored the more complicated realities of his own life.

'Feeling Good Is Good Enough' is the endlessly enjoyable recent single from Fresh Blood - a heartfelt and deeply infectious tune that is soaked in White's affable charisma. Formed of intricate piano and soaring strings, it's a spring staple that'll have you hooked on its sing-along chorus for a long time to come. Accompanying the song is a new video, which features behind-the-scenes footage of White's extraordinary show with a 30-piece orchestra at BRIC Arts Media House in Brooklyn, New York.
Richmond, Virginia-based singer, bandleader and modern soul visionary Matthew E. White released his second album Fresh Blood to critical acclaim earlier this year, earning accolades like “excellent” from NPR Music, “delightfully warm” (Spin), and “hot-buttered gorgeousness” (The Evening Standard).
Fresh Blood is available now via iTunes and DomMart on CD, vinyl and digital download.

Fading Love, out April 28th on Domino / Double Six, was recorded and produced both in London and George's adopted home, Berlin.
Fading Love will be available on CD, digitally, & in vinyl formats on April 28th. Pre-order the album through Dom Mart HERE and on iTunes HERE. Fans who pre-order the album on iTunes will instantly receive tracks 'Crystallise (ft. Lawrence Hart)’ and 'Full Circle (ft. Boxed In)'.

Panda Bear is proud to present the video for ‘Tropic Of Cancer’, from the recently-released, critically acclaimed album Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper. The Dave Portner (of Animal Collective)-directed video, in which many of the album's leitmotifs - family, the animal kingdom, death’s inevitability – are touched on in arrestingly beautiful color.
Says Portner of the video: "Its always been in the spirit of Animal Collective to want to collaborate in many artistic ways with each other. Having been a fan of Noah’s music since we were teenagers, it’s sweet to finally be able to collaborate with him on something other than just making sounds and songs. I also am thankful to get my first shot at making something a little more long running in the visual/video world. This is one of my favorite songs on the record, hence my being involved with it. I’m grateful and excited to have worked on every moment of it and to have worked with all the sweet people who helped me put it together."

Prior to the release of their new album Why Make Sense? on May 18, Hot Chip have announced details of their latest single 'Need You Now'. Watch the video for the single - directed by Shynola - below.
“We share a lot of the same references and attitudes - there’s a definite aesthetic affinity,” say Shynola of Hot Chip. “The idea for the video wholly came from our reaction to the song. What was intended to be a piece of thrifty filmmaking ended up being a mind-melting shoot - if you can imagine shooting multiple versions of reality, but completely out of chronology, plus in the pissing rain and wind.”
Why Make Sense? was recorded in Oxfordshire and London and produced by Hot Chip with Mark Ralph. The album will be available on all standard formats as well as a Special Edition available for a limited time only, featuring a bonus Separate EP with 4 new tracks recorded during the album sessions. Due to a unique and bespoke printing technique which has never been used before, the new album Why Make Sense? will come in one of 501 different colours making every cover unique. The band recently announced further international festival appearances including Lollapalooza, Roskilde, Osheaga and more. Forthcoming live dates are as follows:
We are pleased to announce ‘Move Systems’, the first release from Domino’s latest signing - multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter, Georgia.
Built on a truly monstrous rhythm section, ‘Move Systems’is a frenetic, forceful and hugely imaginative track – offering as much cerebral charm as it does pure physical impact in the way it channels elements of early 00’s grime, dub, post-punk and hip hop into a genuinely new-sounding, globally minded brand of pop. The accompanying video, directed by Rollo Jackson (Hot Chip, Angel Haze, Danny Brown), is available to view now below.
Born and raised in north west London, the last few years have seen Georgia steadily establish herself as an important fixture in the city's most singular and imaginative artistic circles, playing drums for Kwes and Kate Tempest among others before emerging as an irresistible creative force in her own right with last year's Come In EP.
Newly signed to Domino, Georgia is currently putting the final touches to her debut album which she entirely wrote, performed and self-produced - details of which will be announced soon.
Georgia will be performing live at this year’s The Great Escape in Brighton on May 15, and as a special guest of Kelela at XOYO onMay 26. Further dates are to be announced.
Dan Deacon has shared a new music video for "When I Was Done Dying", directed by Adult Swim’s Off the Air. The video’s an exquisite corpse style of collaborative animation, with one of nine animators, each handling their own thirty second segment of the song. See the full list of credits below or at Off the Air. It marks the first time for both Deacon and Off the Air to work on a music video in this style, but the second time they’ve collaborated on a music video, following the video for 2012’s America’s “USA” 22 minute orchestral suite.
All this week at 4am ET/PT, Off the Air will be airing episodes featuring both collaborative music videos alongside work from the animators involved in the “When I Was Done Dying” video. Visit Off the Air’s Tumblr all week for interviews with Deacon and the animators. In addition, all this week the album version of “When I Was Done Dying” is available as a free track download on iTunes US. Download it here.

Petite Noir’s debut EP The King Of Anxiety is now available to purchase in CD and vinyl formats globally. To commemorate its release, the New York Times has premiered the video for EP standout ‘The Fall’ HERE, calling the track “a pensive, meditative ode to the inescapable changes wrought by time, with a quietly anthemic refrain and minimalist orchestration that might call the XX to mind.”
Directed by Yannick Ilunga (Petite Noir) and Rochelle Nembhard, the video for ‘The Fall’ explores their relationship, and symbolizes what we all face in our closest of relationships; the challenges which arise in our attempts to lose selfness and achieve unity.
Regarding the video, Ilunga says:
“The video is inspired by the work of Serbian artist Marina Abromovic, and in particular her ‘The Artist is Present’ performance art piece (MoMA 2010), where she was reunited with her ex-lover, the German artist Ulay, after 22 years apart.
It’s intended as a raw and transparent look into what we do to each other in relationships, setting aside the fakeness and pretense that we shroud ourselves in.
When we fall, we fall together.”
Petite Noir is currently working on his debut album for release by Domino’s sister label, Double Six, later this year.
The King Of Anxiety EP is now available in digital, vinyl, and CD formats from the Dom Mart.
