Real Estate have shared “Stained Glass,” their second track from the forthcoming In Mind out March 17. Last week the band posted a silent clip of the video featuring guitar tabs and keyboard parts, encouraging fans to create their own instrumental interpretations of the song before it became available to the public. Today, they’re pleased to share the full version of “Stained Glass” along with the original tutorial video. This is the second tutorial video release for Real Estate, following up on the fan favorite tutorial for “Crime” from their 2014 release Atlas.
Frontman Martin Courtney also recently sat down with NPR Music's Bob Boilen for a standalone episode of All Songs Considered, discussing everything from the new album's Abbey Road influences, the origin of "Darling," to his recent fatherhood. Listen here.
Real Estate kick off an extensive North American headline tour next month. They've also added a second Brooklyn Steel show by popular demand and will make stops at SXSW and Coachella. Full dates below. More SXSW events to be announced soon.
In Mind is available on CD, LP and digitally. (Sandy) Alex G is pleased to announce his new album, Rocket - set for a May 19th, 2017 release.
Rocket is the Philadelphia-based artist’s eighth full-length release—an assured statement that follows a slate of humble masterpieces, many of them self-recorded and self-released, stretching from 2010’s RACE to his 2015 Domino debut, Beach Music. Rocket’s sessions began shortly after Beach Music’s ended, with Alex tracking songs at home, by himself and with friends, in the gaps between a hectic 2015 and 2016 touring schedule. Rocket was mixed by Jacob Portrait (Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Bass Drum of Death), who also lent his hand to Beach Music, giving the album a fine-tuning that retains the homespun personality of earlier efforts.
(Sandy) Alex G will be playing a special album release show in Brooklyn, New York, on Thursday May 18th. The show will be at The Park Church Co-Op, and tickets go on sale this Friday here. Also announcing today is an all-ages hometown Rocket show on July 8th at Union Transfer in Philadelphia, PA. Tickets go on sale this Friday here. Both shows will feature special guests.
Stay tuned for more tour dates to be announced soon.
Watch the music video for "Bobby" and listen to "Witch" below.
Rocket is available to pre-order now on ltd. red translucent vinyl, ltd. red translucent cassette (Domino Mart exclusive), ltd. random colorway cassette (Bandcamp exclusive), CD, and digital download.

The deluxe edition of the album is available exclusively through the Domino Mart. The deluxe features the album on 150g clear with black smoke double LP, housed in a wide spine jacket with a 16-page 11x11 libretto, and an etched D side. The first pressing of the CD features an O-card sleeve with a 16-page libretto.

Future Politics, the critically lauded new album from Austra, is out now. Today, Austra release the video for the third single from the album, 'I Love You More Than You Love Yourself.'
Inspired by the story of former US astronaut Lisa Nowak, the M Blash-directed video for ‘I Love You More Than You Love Yourself’ gently highlights the struggle of depression.
Katie Stelmanis says:
“M and I were both fascinated by the story of Lisa Nowak but wanted to explore it through a lens of compassion. We wanted to use it to explore issues of mental health and depression, things so many of us experience, in the hope of further de-stigmatizing such conversations. We've decided to focus the actions leading up to her final arrest, and have tried to convey what it may have been like to be her, and what she was feeling. The final chapter of her story is much less interesting to us than that.”
Future Politics is a collection of urgent, disciplined anthems for dance floors and headphones alike, that asks each of us to remember that apocalypse is not an inevitability, but the product of human decision-making. It aims for a world without borders, where human compassion and curiosity drive technological innovation rather than profit, where the necessity of labour is replaced with time for creativity and personal growth, and the terror and destruction wrought by colonialism and white supremacy is recognized as a dark age in human history. The album is radicalism distilled: to galvanic beats, gorgeous, kinetic melodies, and the vulnerable majesty of Stelmanis's voice.
Real Estate has confirmed details for their upcoming fourth LP – In Mind – out March 17th. Recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy-winning producer Cole M.G.N. (Julia Holter, Beck), album opener “Darling” is available now along with accompanying music video, directed by Weird Days. Watch it below.
Over 11 songs, In Mind pushes the band in new directions, while still retaining the warmth and soft-focus narratives that one has come to expect from Real Estate —pastoral guitars, elegantly deployed arrangements, a mindful melancholy. In Mind offers the sound of a mature band not only at the height of its power, but in a period of change. Since their last record – 2014’s Atlas – primary songwriter Martin Courtney became a father of two and moved to upstate New York, while bassist Alex Bleeker relocated to California. In addition, following the departure of co-founding member and lead guitarist Matt Mondanile in 2015, Courtney, Bleeker, drummer Jackson Pollis and keyboardist Matt Kallman welcomed longtime friend and New Jersey native Julian Lynch into the band as a full-time guitarist.
Atlas was an undisputed breakout for the band. Apart from being one of the most lauded records of that year, it earned them performances on Letterman, Conan and CBS This Morning, their third consecutive Pitchfork Best New Music, features with Rolling Stone, Wall Street Journal, NPR Music, a Relix cover story + more, and their highest ever placement on the Billboard 200. In addition to a spot at Coachella this Spring, Real Estate will tour extensively behind In Mind - more info coming soon.
In Mind will be available on CD, LP and digitally. An exclusive limited edition deluxe LP featuring heavyweight colored vinyl, gold foil imprinted packaging (pictured below), and a slipmat, is available to pre-order from Domino Mart. All pre-orders from Domino Mart and iTunes pre-orders will come with an instant download of “Darling”.
In Mind Tracklisting: 1. Darling 2. Serve The Song 3. Stained Glass 4. After The Moon 5. Two Arrows 6. White Light 7. Holding Pattern 8. Time 9. Diamond Eyes 10. Same Sun 11. Saturday
Electric Lines, the new album from producer Joe Goddard, is all about connections. The title refers to the colourful cables that link the modules in his Eurorack synthesizer and to the invisible wires that run between all the different kinds of electronic music that he loves. An apt title for a record which brilliantly unites the strands of his prolific career: member of Hot Chip and the 2 Bears, songwriter, producer, DJ, Grammy award nominated remixer and co-founder of the Greco-Roman label.
Like Four Tet, Caribou and Jamie xx, Joe combines a thirst for experimentation, an instinctive understanding of the dancefloor and a love of left-of-centre pop music. Electric Lines confirms his place in the front rank of British producers.
Today Goddard also drops the video for new single ‘Music Is The Answer’, the second track to be heard from the forthcoming album.
Following hot on the heels of ‘Lose Your Love’, ‘Music Is The Answer’ is an infectious left-of-centre pop track featuring London singer-songwriter Jess Mills, also known as Slo (previous collaborations include Photek, Distance and Breakage).
Directed by Shynola creative collective (Radiohead ‘Pyramid Song’, Beck ‘E-Pro’, Blur ‘Good Song’, Queens of The Stone Age ‘Go With The Flow’), the video epitomises the track’s optimistic message and much needed modern day mantra. Director Richard Kenworthy says: “The message of this track really resonated with us coming off the back of what for most people was a dispiriting year. We'd recently been reading about the AWOL Hitomi satellite, and also the incredible Pinchas Gutter hologram and that lead to imagine a story about a satellite lost in the vastness of space, broadcasting a recorded message of hope.”
Elsewhere on the album, Hot Chip bandmate Alexis Taylor features on the title track ‘Electric Lines’, while Michigan based singer Daniel Wilson makes an appearance on disco-sampling deep house track ‘Home’. Jess Mills graces the album’s two most irresistible pop songs, ‘Ordinary Madness’ and ‘Music Is the Answer’. Joe himself sings on a few tracks including the deeply personal ‘So Long’, a tender reflection on parenthood and mortality. Electric Lines treasure chest of styles also includes lustrous electronic soul (‘Lose Your Love’), rippling UK garage (‘Truth Is Light’) and shamanic psychedelic techno (‘Children’). The result is an album set to draw the map of 2017’s musical landscape and cement Joe Goddard as one of the UK’s most credible and well respected producers.
Electric Lines will be available on Deluxe Edition Vinyl, featuring a signed double LP on heavyweight vinyl with a wide spined sleeve, exclusive bonus 12” featuring 3 tracks from the Electric Lines’ album sessions, download card with album + 12” tracks. The CD will feature an initial card pack pressing with a 6 page artwork booklet. You can purchase the album digitally HERE and via Amazon HERE. Vinyl and CD both feature completely unique, separate artwork.
Electric Lines tracklisting:
01. Ordinary Madness 02. Lose Your Love 03. Home 04. Lasers 05. Human Heart 06. Children 07. Truth Is Light 08. Nothing Moves 09. Electric Lines 10. Music Is The Answer
‘Electric Lines’ will be released April 21, 2017 on Greco-Roman / Domino
The new Dirty Projectors song ‘Up In Hudson’ is an elegy — to the Obama years, to a generation of indie rock, and to a relationship. Over the course of nine verses and almost eight minutes, the lyrics situate David Longstreth & his band in the vivid textures of the recent past like a millennial Blood On The Tracks. It is a piece of epic storytelling unlike anything else in Dirty Projectors’ discography.
To arrive where we began and know the place for the first time: ‘Up In Hudson’ is an origin story for a new chapter of Dirty Projectors.
And with it, Dirty Projectors announce their long-awaited 7th LP.
The new album does everything we want and expect from Dirty Projectors — but in a way we never could have imagined or anticipated. In a career of surprising conceptual gambits, unexpected stylistic evolutions, and continually changing lineups — this is, as DJ Khaled says, “ANOTHER ONE”!
Dirty Projectors will be out February 24, 2017 on Domino.
Dirty Projectors tracklisting:
01. Keep Your Name 02. Death Spiral 03. Up In Hudson 04. Work Together 05. Little Bubble 06. Winner Take Nothing 07. Ascent Through Clouds 08. Cool Your Heart 09. I See You
The deluxe edition LP will be available exclusively through the Domino Mart. The deluxe features the album on 150g clear with black smoke double LP, housed in a wide spine jacket with a 16-page 11x11 libretto, and an etched D side. The first pressing of the CD features an O-card sleeve with a 16-page libretto.
Domino is pleased to announce the signing of Australia's Middle Kids. Their debut self-titled EP will be released February 17th, 2017.
The three-piece, led by vocalist / guitarist Hannah Joy, and producer / multi-instrumentalist Tim Fitz, with Harry Day on drums, first came to public attention with the release of their debut single 'Edge Of Town' in May last year. Sir Elton John declared himself a fan of the song, added it to his Apple Music playlist and aired it on his Beats 1 radio show. Triple J placed the song on high rotation, while in the US, the song has had airplay support on over 30 AAA/Alt stations. To date, 'Edge Of Town'has accumulated over 3 million streams on Spotify. Not bad for a band that, when they recorded the single, hadn't played a single show.
Now, Middle Kids have shows in Australia, America, and Europe under their belt; they've recorded sessions with WFUV and WXPN's World Cafe; and they're getting ready to head out on tour across America with Cold War Kids, with headline shows and a stop at SXSW also plotted.
Earlier this week, Middle Kids shared a brand new video for the single 'Edge Of Town'. Shot in Melbourne, and directed by Josh Harris:
And today, in celebration of their signing to Domino and the announcement of the upcoming tour, Middle Kids have released the video for previously unheard EP track, 'Never Start'.
Middle Kids EP is available to pre-order now on LP, CD, and digital download. Pre-order: Dom Mart / iTunes
Earlier this month Middle Kids were highlighted as one of Vinyl Me, Please's 11 Artists to Watch in 2017, and the Middle Kids EP was also selected for their VMP Rising program, receiving an exclusive limited-edition pressing on white vinyl. Get it here.

_ Domino is proud to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of Buzzcocks’ groundbreaking Spiral Scratch EP with its reissue on January 27, 2017. Time’s Up, the 1976 demos recorded with founder & singer Howard Devoto and originally released as a bootleg, will also be reissued on March 10, 2017 alongside the Buzzcocks (mk.1) Box, a special boxset containing vinyl and CD of both Spiral Scratch and Times Up alongside rare reprinted ephemera of the time.
Watch Breakdown, filmed at Manchester’s Lesser Free Trade Hall shows in 1976:
‘It’s the Buzz, Cock’.
Howard Devoto read this headline from a January 1976 Time Out review of Rock Follies, the 1970s TV musical drama following the ups and downs of the fictional female rock group, Little Ladies.
Devoto adapted and appropriated it as the name for his new band that he had just formed with Pete Shelley, having realized what a Sex Pistol was before anyone else.
Buzzcocks formed having witnessed firsthand the white-heat of the early Sex Pistols. Howard and Pete went about organizing the now infamous 1976 Lesser Free Trade Hall gigs that brought punk to the provinces and galvanized the new Manchester music revolution. The plan was to simply play support to the Pistols and then see what happened next…
Featuring the original line-up of Howard Devoto (vocals & songwriter), Pete Shelley (guitar & songwriter), Steve Diggle (bass guitar) and John Maher (drums), Time’s Up was recorded at Revolution Studios in Stockport, England on October 18th 1976. The session, a capture of Buzzcocks’ live set at the time, cost £45 and was engineered by Andy MacPherson.
In December of the same year, the band recorded the four-track Spiral Scratch EP with a minimum of fuss in ‘downtime’ at Indigo Studios, with Martin Hannett (then going under the pseudonym of Martin Zero) producing. The band inexplicably took it upon themselves to self-release the EP, somehow finding the monies necessary to press 1000 copies on 7” vinyl, on their own New Hormones label. The EP sold for £1 a copy. Within days of the initial release, with typical punk chaos and sweet disregard for any cohesive business strategy, Howard Devoto revealed that he was quitting the band. The Spiral Scratch EP quickly sold out of its initial 1000 pressing, went on to sell 16,000 copies over the next six months and is now recognized as one of, if not the, most important records of the punk explosion. It was the first self-released record of its time, with the band responsible for everything, from sleeve design to distribution.
Spiral Scratch is testament to the power of punk’s possibilities and is an object lesson in how to debunk and demystify any hurdles presented by the establishment. The impact of this incredible seven inches of vinyl that kick-started the whole D.I.Y. culture goes on, and on, and on, and on, and on…
Spiral Scratch will be available on 7” vinyl and digitally + a limited edition 7” with an insert including the original press release via Dom Mart.
Buzzcocks (mk.1) Box contains 7” vinyl and CD of ‘Spiral Scratch’, LP vinyl and CD of ‘Time’s Up’ and audio & video download codes, plus reprinted ephemera of the time, including assorted 10” x 8” photographs, 1976 gig flyers and posters, pin badges, the ‘Spiral Scratch’ story and a new re-imagined edition of Manchester fanzine, ‘Shy Talk’ with original contributions from those who were there at the time. You can pre-order the box set HERE.
Our current climate leaves many feeling apathetic but despair can act as a compass – the less you can ignore, the more you have to act.
Having previously shared the video for first single ‘Utopia‘, Austra are pleased to reveal the video for new track ‘Future Politics’, taken from the forthcoming album of the same name which is released January 20th on Domino.
Of the video, Austra’s Katie Stelmanis and the director Allie Avital say: "Future Politics is the breaking down of paradigms. In this video, we wanted to explore what a world might look like if our values were transformed: instead of glorifying labour, maybe we could learn to glorify the act of doing absolutely nothing."
Austra’s third LP is the Canadian band’s most ambitious record to date and calls for radical hope: “a commitment to replace the approaching dystopia,”says Katie Stelmanis, who leads Austra with the support of Maya Postepski (Princess Century, TR/ST), Dorian Wolf, and Ryan Wonsiak.
Additionally, Austra have confirmed full European tour dates for 2017 including London’s Convergence Festival. All dates can be found below.

Austra recently announced their third full length LP Future Politics, out January 20th, and have today announced the first leg of North American tour dates in support of the release. The Range will be supporting for a portion of the tour, and tickets are on-sale now. See below to find a show near you.
To accompany the tour announcement, The Fader have premiered a gorgeous remix by Ikonika for Future Politics’ lead single "Utopia".
In an email to The FADER, Ikonika discussed her thinking behind the remix. “Good form is ubiquitous," she said. "We all wanna share our achievements via social media. We can easily be distracted by it. One lyric I had on loop making this remix was My work is valid, I can’t prove it/ but I know. I always thought of myself as online shy, but I learnt I just can't be bothered much.”

Looking forward to going out on tour next February with Austra! I’ve been out on the road all fall and have been having a lot of fun with my live set so I'm excited for you to hear these new live versions and edits of my songs. You can hear a little of what's to come from this set recorded at The Fillmore in Denver last month - james
