VILLAGERS US TOUR DATES AND "BECOMING A JACKAL" OUT IN JUNE
04/27/10
Villagers' frontman Conor J. O'Brien has confirmed a 5-date East Coast solo tour starting June 17th at Brooklyn’s Union Hall supporting his Domino Records debut Becoming A Jackal (out June 8). The tour includes stops in DC, Philadelphia, Boston and a second NYC show at Joe’s Pub. O'Brien is also confirmed to perform live on WNYC's Soundcheck on June 17th and to tape an NPR Music "Tiny Desk Concert" on June 21st.
Villagers have received early UK praise for Becoming A Jackal from the BBC, Drowned in Sound and The Guardian among others. Earlier this month, The Guardian praised Villagers' "dark tales of obsession" in a Band of the Day spotlight and The Stool Pigeon zine hailed Becoming A Jackal as the "early contender for album of the year."
Frontman Conor J. O'Brien recently performed the album’s title track and "The Meaning of the Ritual" on Later with Jools Holland. Watch both performances here.
