You might think that there would be little fresh life left in the pursuit of making a restrained heartfelt country-inflected singer songwriter album, but Constant Companion's genteel beauty would be 2010's proof against that theorem.
Mad Men - Season 4 (AMC)
Some amazing moments of art and poetic composition in the fabric of Season 4 which one rarely associates with a television show.
The War On Drugs - "Comin' Through" (Secretly Canadian)
Adam Granduciel tried a little musical alchemy, combining Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams," Springsteen's "Atlantic City" and vintage Tom Petty and came away with a shimmering, melancholic masterpiece.
The Larry Sanders Show - The Complete Series (Shout Factory)
Fans of what is quite possibly the funniest show of all-time were cruelly teased over the years with sporadic, incomplete releases. This 17-DVD package rectifies all past sins of omission and was my second favorite box set of the year (I couldn't include the favorite on this list because of lack of objectivity).
