Originally from Los Angeles, Chief officially formed while living in New York attending university. Having recently returned to Santa Monica, CA, the band are making preparations to record their debut album with Grammy award winning producer Emery Dobyns (Antony & the Johnsons, Suzanne Vega, Noah and the Whale) for a Summer 2010 release. Chief create rollicking melodic music which captures a time where storytelling was at the core of composition, and bands were followed by fans who believed in what they stood for and knew all the words to prove it.
